International Event Riders Club

Empowering the voice of the Athlete across the Sport.

Overview

The International Event Riders Club (IERC) has been established to ensure riders have a seat at the table when it comes to governance in the sport.

Collectively, this will enable riders to provide feedback on existing rules, propose new changes, and protect the image of the sport on the global stage.

As eventing evolves, it is vital that the athlete is part of the decision-making process. Thus, the objective of the organisation is to cultivate a close and collaborative working relationship with the FEI in order to ensure riders are represented across the sport.

The aim is to establish an organisation that can simply and effectively provide a united voice to help steer the sport at a time of unprecedented change.

Just as importantly, the IERC must stand the test of time as a pathway for future generations.

Membership is open to any rider competing at international level and registered with the FEI – it is free to join.

The inaugural Board has been selected to represent the growth, diversity, and jurisdictions of the sport. Collaborating closely with the FEI Eventing Committee and associated working groups, they will help guide the sport on behalf of the membership,

The FEI Athlete Eventing Representative has a seat on the IERC Board, forming an integral link between the two organisations to ensure timely and appropriate communication and engagement, to assist in aligning the official mandates.

Past championship riders will join as mentors, providing expertise and guidance to members based on their longstanding involvement in eventing.

In the short term, the IERC is focused on strengthening, formally and informally, the relationship with the FEI and associated stakeholders, immediately providing a platform that unites, empowers and amplifies the athlete when it comes to key decisions regarding the sport.

In parallel, two working groups will continue to expand the association, one focused on identifying member initiatives for both elite and emerging riders, the second focused on operational and funding aspects to support growth.

The IERC is registered as a Not for Profit Association in Switzerland and structured according to the underlying Statutes as per the section below.

Funding is currently via private donors, with a sponsorship programme coming on-line for 2027 and beyond.

Longer term a number of initiatives will be identified for possible endowment or grant funding.

Become a Member... or a Donor.

It is imperative we have an association that is first and foremost the voice of the rider,  working closely with the FEI to represent the needs and perspective of the athlete when it comes to the sport of Eventing.

The Board is committed to representing members in line with the current objective of the IERC, alongside working to ensure the sport has a clear path for the future.
