The IERC has been established to ensure that riders have a seat at the table when it comes to the governance of the sport, whether that is to provide feedback on existing rules or propose new changes to the sport.
As eventing evolves, it’s vital that riders are part of the decision-making process.

The aim was to establish a club that listens to riders, simply and effectively represents them, helps steer the sport and, importantly, stands the test of time for future generations. We will continue to build a close and cooperative working relationship with the FEI in order to ensure that the riders’ collective voice is suitably represented across the sport, now and into the future.

How are the members represented
The inaugural Board has been selected to represent the growth, diversity and jurisdictions of the sport. Collaborating closely with the FEI Eventing Committee and associated working groups, the board will provide a representative and unified voice of the membership.
The FEI Eventing Athlete Representative has an ex officio seat on the IERC Board.

Operational structure
The IERC is registered as a Not-for-Profit Association in Switzerland and structured according to the underlying Statutes. (here)
Funding is currently via private donors, with a sponsorship programme coming on-line for 2027 and beyond.
Longer term, a number of initiatives will be identified for possible endowment or grant funding.
Two working groups will continue to expand the association, one focused on operational and funding aspects to support growth, the second focused on identifying member initiatives for both elite and emerging riders.
